SJ Securities Sdn Bhd
SJ Securities Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in Malaysia on 4 July 1985 as a private unlimited company. Formerly known as Subang Jaya Securities, SJ Securities assumed its present name in 1990 when the company was converted into a private limited company. In 1995, Carta Bintang Sdn. Bhd. bought over the entire equity in SJ Securities to become our sole controlling shareholder. This corporate milestone signaled a new era of growth and propelled SJ Securities closer towards being a player in the globalisation of financial markets.
Since our inception, few events had tested and challenged the stability of our company and industry but the people at SJ displayed great discipline and resolve in facing any adversity. We believe that we are stronger than ever and better equipped for the future. Despite difficult and sometimes unenviable market conditions, we continue to grow and achieve substantial returns for our shareholders.
SJ Securities is a progressive business organisation committed to the well-being of our customers and employees. With the right impetus from our people, SJ Securities is geared to meeting challenges towards achieving both our corporate objectives and clientele needs.
Now more than ever, we are focussed intently on client relationships, the impetus that we believe will drive our future growth. We shape our strategy of diversification by the products we offer and the market we aim for. SJ believes that through discipline, advantageous arrangements/business relationships, increased diversification and increased investment in our delivery tools/infrastructure we will be able to better manage our portfolios to benefit our shareholders and clients alike.
Over the years, SJ Securities has managed to maintain a healthy profit level. In September 2002, our paid up capital was increased to RM100 million and shareholders' funds were in excess of RM124 million by the end of the year. This increase reflects our shareholders' commitment and vision for SJ Securities to be one of the top stockbroking companies in Malaysia.
