Stock Bids
Definition
- An offer made by an investor, a trader or a dealer to buy a security. The bid will stipulate both the price at which the buyer is willing to purchase the security and the quantity to be purchased.
- The price at which a market maker is willing to buy a security. The market maker will also display an ask price, or the amount and price at which it is willing to sell.

Following are the minimum bids for the different price ranges:

| RM1.00 up to RM2.99 | 1 cent |
| RM3.00 up to RM4.98 | 2 cent |
| RM5.00 up to RM9.95 | 5 cent |
| RM10.00 up to RM24.90 | 10 cent |
| RM25.00 up to RM99.75 | 25 cent |
| RM100.00 and above | 50 cent |
From the above bids table, if the share price is at RM4.98, the next minimum bids is RM5.00 but when the price is at RM5.00 the next minimum bid is RM5.05.
